    Buyer sought for Coventry manufacturer

The administrators of an engineering firm in Coventry have said they are “confident” of securing a sale of the business which failed because of “order book uncertainty”.

Matt Hardy, of Coventry and Birmingham based insolvency practitioners Poppleton & Appleby, has been appointed to handle the administration process and is working to find a buyer for the business.

He said: “Middleton Precision Engineering will continue trading as we look to secure a buyer for the business and we are confident that we will receive significant interest.

“The company has been placed into administration after suffering as a result of changes within the manufacturing industry, despite attempts to reorganise.

“Middleton, like many other small companies in the manufacturing industry, has witnessed operational difficulties due to order book uncertainty.

“The family-run firm has seen customers switch from placing long-term orders months in advance to orders confirmed within weeks. This has resulted in a lack of confidence and uncertainty within the business.”
