What is a Creditors Voluntary Liquidation (CVL)?

As outlined by R3 website (the trade association for the UK’s insolvency, restructuring, advisory and turnaround professionals) ‘Creditors’ voluntary liquidation (or CVL), occurs where the shareholders, usually at the directors’ request, decide to put a company into liquidation because it is insolvent. In a CVL, the creditors can appoint a liquidator of their choice. The CVL is the most common way for directors and shareholders to deal voluntarily with their company’s insolvency’.

We understand what it is like to run a company of this size and how important the right company insolvency advice at the right time can be to Directors when facing financial difficulties or liquidation.

Where we recommend a formal insolvency process, which may be company liquidation, the advice we give explains why we are doing so and the options that are available. The liquidation advice we give will be clear and straightforward, setting out what we believe is right for the company and other stakeholders affected by these decisions.

Our service will include assisting the company in retaining control of the decision-making process wherever possible, while also being sensitive to the position of creditors who may hold security against it and who need to be involved and agree to any suggested insolvency process, including liquidation.
